Bamboo is a grass, not wood and yet 16% harder than maple. This board is made from flattened strips of bamboo (fewer knife marks). Environmentally friendly, bamboo grows and replenishes itself very quickly so it is a great renewable resource. Non-skid feet. Easy to care for - wash with a mild detergent in warm water, and give an occasional wipe with a food grade mineral oil. Not safe for dishwasher, microwave, or oven.
